The Graduation Show was held at the LaSalle College of the Arts gallery from 16 May to 3 Jun 2026. The show combined the graduating class of the Diploma and Bachelor’s of Fine Arts. For this show, the lecturers selected two of my final works to be displayed.

The first works is a scroll titled Resonant Vibrations (Ink on Paper, 150cm x 1000cm, 2026). Resonant Vibrations is felt through movement, distance, and duration. It creates a slow, immersive encounter, inviting the viewer to follow the surface as a field of traces, rhythms, and shifts in density. The work develops through vibration, gesture, and material response, allowing marks to emerge through a process shaped by openness, receptivity, and variation. By resting on the floor, the work creates a low, grounded space of attention where viewing becomes physical and contemplative, echoing Daoist zi ran, wu wei, and Heideggerian Gelassenheit.

The second was a diptych titled Gan Ying: Field of Resonance (Chinese Ink on Canvas, 100cm x 75cm, 60cm x 45cm, 2026) which evokes a terrain where material, memory, and gesture converge. Layered washes and vertical striations suggest both erosion and accumulation, echoing the passage of time across a mutable surface. The ink washes—marked by seepage, stains, and interruptions—invites a contemplative reading of presence and absence. Drawing from a conceptual framework of resonance, the work reflects how traces persist, interact, and reverberate beyond their origin, transforming the painting into a site of quiet intensity and ongoing dialogue between control and chance.
